It's a cowardly way for reporters to deflect from what they're really saying/thinking on to a contrived "popular opinion". I remember Al Roker was interviewing Heidi & Spencer, and while those two are idiots, Al Roker kept responding to them with "some people say you're douchebags" or "some people say you're morons". When really you could tell Roker was mad and those were his thoughts.
FOX reporters tend to do it a lot.
Your question is a little unclear, but the use of "some people say" is usually a truthful and honest statement. I'll never be surprised by what people believe. It's better than your use of "most people say" with no evidence to back it up.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
