There are not many hair dye the will damage your scalp. But I would say the the most damaging hair dye is probably bleach. Bleach is really strong and would be the most damaging to your scalp.
I don't think that any make of hair color would damage your scalp. I have been coloring my hair for many years, I have tried lots of different brands and I have never had any problem at all with any of them There is an ammonia free type available now made by various companies, this is more gentle than the regular kind and is quicker to use, so even if your scalp is sensitive you should be able to use this type. Whichever sort of hair color you use, it is always a good idea to do a test strand first so that you can see what the finished result will be like and to ensure that you don't have any reaction to the product.Be very careful of using bleach on your hair, in unskilled hands it can result in weird colors and possible scalp problems.
