I suspect we lose our ability to taste food. Fresh bread is not nearly as it was when I was a child. Many other foods have "changed."

But I expect the change was in me.Sorry. But I have heard this complaint for most of my life. Thirty years ago it was blamed on new agricultural methods and chemical fertilizer.

Well, I am getting long in the tooth, but the radishes available at our supermarket are absolutely flavorless to my children as well as to me. They are beautiful to look at, but totally flavorless. Pnek 14 months ago .

I can see some of both. Tomatoes certainly have lost flavor. But I think some is my loss.

I think that is mostly because tomatoes are picked and shipped when they are green. I've found those little grape tomatoes to be quite flavorful though. Of course they are too small to slice for sammiches, but they are good in salads or just by themselves.

Use pita bread or tortillas and you can cut up the small tomatoes and use them in "sandwiches. " .

I might try your suggestion on the use of alternate forms of bread in my sammiches. However, I refuse to use that spelling of the word sammich under any circumstances. That spelling comes from the story of the supposed invention of the sammich by a member of the British aristocracy.

According to the legend, this person is said to have thought of the sammich when he found himself feeling a might peckish while engaged in a card game. I find this story to be ridiculous. I'm sure that over the course of thousands of years of human history it had occurred to multitudes of people who actually had to work for a living to slap a piece of meat onto a piece of bread in order to save themselves a little time and effort.

I concede that it is likely true the the Earl of Sandwich was the first member of the aristocracy to find himself needing to use both hands at once, one to eat with and the other to count his money. I further concede that his having demonstrated his willingness to engage in such proletarian behavior likely made it acceptable for the good and proper members of the upper classes to do likewise. But, I will never concede that he invented the damned thing or that he deserves to have it named in his honor.

I thought the " marks might get me into a discussion. However, I meant it to be a nonstandard food item witht he tortillas or pita bread. Now, I have alswya favored "sandwidge" from its use in Li'l Abner.

All in good fun. Thanks for the Li'l Abner reference. Moonbeam McSwine was my first crush and is the reason I've always had a thing for dirtygirls.

You should grow your own. More flavor that way! .

That would be nice, but I'm not really set up for it. Pnek 14 months ago .

You bought a different crop of radishes, is all. Winter radishes are hotter than summer radishes.

These had no heat at all, nor any flavor. Pnek 14 months ago .

I have noticed the same thing. Disappointing. Clay Douglass com/profiles/claydouglass.

What is the breed of dog in the most recent Beneful do food commercial.

What breed of dog is on the beneful dog food bags.

What does it mean when you crave a food and when you get that particular food and have one bite you don't want it no more.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
