The number zero, 0, is actually nothing. Let's also take a look at the integers on either side of 0: -1 and +1. Multiply a number by (+)1 and you get that number: 5 x 1 = 5 Multiply a number by -1 and you get the negative of that number (same magnitude by on the opposite side of the number scale: 5 x -1 = -5 9 x -1 = -9 -4 x -1 = 4 Again: 1 x 1 = 1 1 x -1 = -1 Now consider 10 x 0: 0 is between -1 and 1 on the number scale but it's meaning is nothing.
Another way to think of it is taking an inventory of fruit in the fridge. Let's say you have apples and oranges. To start with you have 5 apples and 5 oranges.
In a day, you and your brother eat 1 apple each. You also eat 1 orange each. That leaves you with 3 apples and 3 oranges.
The next day is the same. That leaves you with 1 apple and 1 orange. Your brother goes to the fridge and eats the last apple and you eat the last orange.
How do you express how many apples are left? Apples x 0 = 0 apples or even just: 0.
Think about it philosophically! If there is nothing there , how can you multiply something to it/nothing.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
