All converters are created equal. All antennas are not. I think you will be happier with a roof antenna than you will with the model you mentioned.
That's an indoor model, and it's got mixed reviews here: hdtvantennalabs.com/reviews/Terk-HDTVa-r.... Somtimes you can get away with putting these things in your attic. If you live in a fringe reception area, you'll need to mount the antenna on your roof - the higher the better.
DTV operates in the same frequency range as highband VHF through UHF channel 51, 181.25MHz through 693.25 MHz. These signals are line-of-sight and directional. That means your antenna has to be oriented in the direction of the transmitter, and it should have a clear line of sight to it.
Most TV broadcast antennas are located in the downtown areas of urban centers, atop high buildings to extend their reach. For wiring, you should use RG6-grade, 75 Ohm Coaxial cable (you can buy this at Radio Shack). If you want or need to amplify the signal, place the amplifier at the head end of the cable - however, don't expect great results.
The amplifiers used with these things are more for signal distribution to several points rather than boosting a weak signal. The site I referred you to has reviews on a number of models: http://www.hdtvantennalabs.com/hdtv-antenna-reviews.php If you are restricted to an indoor model, their top-rated unit is the Jensen TV-621. 1 The converter is not the problem. It can only convert the analong signal it receives into a digital signal. If the analog signal is weak or of poor quality, then the converted Digital signal will be poor.
You don't say what type of antenna (rabbit ears or outdoor) so here is my best:If rabbit ears, throw them out. Rabbit ears are mostly worthless if the transmitting is not close to your area(within 20 miles or so), and that doesn't guarantee good reception. I own an outdoor antenna that I bought in 1982 from Radio Shack that still works great.
I do service the antenna every two years. Depending on how far the transmitters are from you location determines the type of outdoor antenna you will need. I have a 96" long antenna that has a range of over 100 miles.
From my home in Southwest Oklahoma I am able to receive TV stations as far as Kansas, Arkansas as part of regular reception. When storms are in the correct position I've received stations from Chicago, Omaha, Denver. Once I watched a station from Idaho. To my south I easily receive stations from Dallas/Ft.
Worth. I also pick up station to my southwest and west in Texas. All the close stations (100 miles or closer) come in clear.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
