No cutting and pasting, please. Are there foods or natural products that moisturize hair but don't leave it greasy? How do you use them?
How often? I can google it myself. I'm looking for your real experience with this remedy.

A hot oil treatment It’s a concentrated oil in a little clear plastic tube. You just draw a cup of hot tap water and put the vial in to warm the oil...Snip off the top squeeze it on and just rub it all through your hair. The brand I have now is Alberto VO-5.
Very inexpensive. I only takes a few minutes (as directed), then shampoo as usual. I think you'll be pleased with the results. My hair comes out looking very healthy with a natural sheen...it lasts through quite a few shampoos.
Too. One time, when my hair was extremely dry, looking like straw from a lot of pool swimming, I put the hot oil on, wrapped my head in saran wrap and sat in the sun for about an hour. A rather frightening sight, but it worked great Unscented Amazon List Price: $5.49 Alberto VO5 Hot Oil Shower Works, Moisturizing, 4 - 2 fl oz (59 ml) treatments (Pack of 6) Amazon List Price: $33.05 Average Customer Rating: 5.0 out of 5 (based on 1 reviews) Alberto VO5, Hot Oil Hair Treatment For Strengthening with Pro-Vitamin B5 - 2 each .
I've used.....avocado and olive oil. I take an avocado and mash it up really well (blender works well for this). I then add about 1/4 cup olive oil to the blender and whirr it all up.
I then pack this mixture on my hair, from roots to ends, then let it sit for about 7 to 10 minutes. After this, I rinse my hair in cool water, then shampoo it to get the rest out. This treatment usually lasts about a month (but I’m hard on my hair - blow drying, curling, flat ironing, living in Arizona).8) In-between times (maybe once or twice a month), I’ll rinse my hair with about 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar before washing it with my regular shampoo. It seems to help get rid of the hair product buildup (gels, hairspray, shampoo/conditioner, etc) and really makes my hair soft.
Homemade Hot Oil Don't spend big bucks on the hot oil. Make your own with 1/8 cup olive oil and a drop each of peppermint, eucalyptus and lavendar essential oil (or your favorites, these are mine. ) Warm it in your microwave (NOT SUPER HOT.) Apply it to damp hair, rub in and then microwave a wet towel until it's as hot as you like it.
I like mine really hot at about 4 minutes on high. Wrap your head and then wash and condition when the towel cools off. I really like Sunsilk products for the wash and condition.

Have you tried a chelating shampoo Unfortunately this isn't a home remedy but it really helped with my dull hair. I have very flat, thin hair so I tend to use a lot of product. My hair dresser recommended a chelating shampoo "Itely hair fashion".
It works great for color treated, dull, dry looking hair. I use it once a week & it makes my hair lighter, fluffier, and healthier looking. Give it a try, your products may have left build up to give you that dull, dry look.
This product clears it off. This is the one I use: beaute-craft.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=pr... .
