What is a laptop docking station?

A laptop docking station is a device that provides the same function with the standard docking stations. For your laptop, a docking station adds functionality to a laptop or it would transform it to a desktop computer. So if your laptop or notebook lacks some important functionality like the USB and more, the docking station will enable you to use your laptop like your desktop PC without affecting its functionality.
