What is a safe product I can use in the dishwasher to remove iron, rust stains from our plate and bowls?

We have well water and our water here is not good. Full of iron, rust and lime.It stains our white clothes. , but I would like to know what product I can use that is dishwasher safe to remove stains off of plastic type bowls and plates.

They are character plates and bowls for kids and for some reason the water stains these only. I don't want to damage the dinnerware. Asked by WILD 58 months ago Similar questions: safe product dishwasher remove iron rust stains plate bowls Home.

Ok, this IS interesting - and it should be plate safe - I drink it! (Reprinted from the DRSNews, April 2004)Here in the country we see our share of well water carrying a heavy burden of rust, and it often shows up as an ugly brown stain completely coating the inside of a dishwasher. A good cure for this is citric acid, and I used to sell expensive little packages of it that we got from GE.

However, I’ve not been doing that since discovering this alternative. If your dishwasher’s interior has become more brown than white or stainless steel, pick up a jar of TangÔ instant breakfast drink. Fill the detergent dispenser with it and start your machine on a ‘normal wash’ cycle with no dishes inside.(Remember to run the hot faucet at the sink first, to ensure the dishwasher’s first fill is with hot water - see the January 2004 DRSNews)Once the machine has filled and started to wash, open the door and throw 2-3 tablespoons of Tang into the water and let the machine run through a cycle. In some cases this has to be repeated and another cycle run, but the results can be dramatic.

Doing this on a regular basis before the staining gets too bad is probably a good idea if your water suffers from high iron content. Try it - it works! Sources: http://www.davesrepair.com/DIYhelp/DIYdwrust.htm .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
