Whatever it is, I'm not making it! Are you referring to for one person, two, three or the "family of four" that the government uses for their statistics? .
Just one persons gross income before taxes. NOT a families gross income. Squeeky-changes-suck 7 months ago .
It depends a lot upon a person's expenses as to whether or not its good or not. I know people who earn around $20,000 a year, who always have money to spend and overall are better off than someone who makes three times that. Of course, considering the way gas and food prices are going up, they might be having some problems these days.....
BEFORE TAXES. "That would heavily depend upon where you live. If you live in a highly desirable location, like a good neighborhood in Manhattan, LA, SF, Boston or Seattle then the housing prices and taxes will be infinitely higher than some small town in the middle of nowhere, then you will need a far higher income.
A $50K income will get you a decent home in some no-where place but good luck trying to live in Santa Barbara. To approximate what is an acceptable gross income, you'd first have to specify not only the city, but the exact neighborhood. Where I live, there are $100k, $200k, $400 (etc. ) communities where nearly all of the houses are in the same approximate price range.
There aren't any $400k homes next to $900k homes.
Makes sense,thanks Max. Squeeky-changes-suck 7 months ago .
Problem with that is that there are many variables between "gross" income and "net" income. There was a time when a gross income of $35,000 a year gave me a net income of $25,000 a year. Now a gross income of $35,000 a year would cover medical costs and business insurance.
Oh I know there is a big difference between gross and net,but it seems that every thing is based on your net income. Squeeky-changes-suck 7 months ago .
Thanks for your reply TLW. Squeeky-changes-suck 7 months ago .
Sorry I meant to say your gross incomew not your net, which is weird because that is the money the Government actually allows you to take home from your pay check to live from, and then everything you buy to live with with is taxed again. Squeeky-changes-suck 7 months ago .
Not if you live in Oregon - we don't believe in taxing spending, here. Feel it's bad for the economy to penalize people for spending money.
Few control their income. We can all take charge of what we spend. So long as you have enough to pay the bills, you should be happy.
Thanks Gary and I understand what your saying but I am looking for a dollar amount. Squeeky-changes-suck 7 months ago .
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
