What is Lake Hartwell, and why is the gathering always there? Will it ever be out on the West Coast?

Lake Hartwell was the original site chosen a few years ago by a small group of Frankfurters for a casual get together with their friends and families. Over the last few years, the event has grown significantly. There are no plans to have the Hartwell gathering any place other than Lake Hartwell.

Over the years, we’ve gotten to know the local people who help us throw this big party. We now have an “in” with the vacation home rental people, the boat rental company, the local grocers (who handle our “special order keg beer”), the neighbors, and even the local polizei. It would be hard to build all those relationships at another location, and frankly, we just don’t want to.

But hey, people all over the country are organizing gatherings - some big, some small. Hartwell is what it is because people got together and organized it. We encourage people on the left coast to do the same thing.

And as long as you don’t plan it for the same week as Hartwell, I think you’ll see a few of us out ... more.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
