The classification of "Major" or "Minor Prophets" refers to the length of the book by that prophet's name, so the classification of "major" or "minor" refers to the book and not the person. This classification is used with prophetic books in the Old Testament section of the Bible. There are twelve shorter books collectively referred to as the "Minor Prophets" and the remaining prophetic books in the Old Testament are considerably longer in length and referred to as "Major Prophets.
