What is one book you would like to see made into a movie?

I have two picks: To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis. It's a light-hearted time travel adventure with a lot of character and fun. Assuming that the playful language translates well onto the big screen, I think the pace and comedy would be great.

Also, I'd like to see the Eragon series made into a real movie. The first one was so bad, it probably killed the potential, but the novels have the makings of a series of fantastic, visual fun movies with great scope and drama. My favorite writer is Terry Pratchett, but I think any attempt to transfer his work to the big screen would be disappointing.

Geek Love. It's been rumored for years, but apparently, none of them were true. Tim Burton could do an amazing job with this story.

.

Little White Lies by Gemma Townley. Â It's a bit unrealistic and predictable, but since when have movies been anything but?

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I loved this book. I didn't think I would, but I was happily surprised. It was a lot better than it sounds and a lot better than I thought it would be.

There's actually a sequel coming out in September called Catching Fire. ew.com/ew/article/0,,20223443,00.html"In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before-and survival.

A Spell for Chameleon", and then the rest of the Xanth series by Piers Anthony. This fantasy series got me through my parents' divorce.

1632 by Eric Flint. I don't know if it is the first, but this book that portrays a West Virginia town that is torn out of the present and deposited in German Thuringia in 1632, has evolved into a true bookipedia. I am amazed at the different directions that contributors to this work have taken.

I am amazed at how much I have learned about history, religion, politics, science, finances, inventions, and much more, from reading this series.

Atlas Shrugged by Ayn RandIt is next only to the Bible in the Library of Congress survey of most influential books but have never been made into a movie atleast the quintessential American movie!

One of my favourite books that I always hope they'd make into a film was Greg Bear's 'Eon'. In fact I am not alone - there have even been competitions for people to create trailers and concept art for it : features.cgsociety.org/story_custom.php?... My main concern was that it simply wasn't possible to make a film faithful to the book in the past but with the latest CGI capabilities, I think it could now be made. The problem is, I loved the book 'Battlefield Earth', but the film of that bore no resemblance to the book at all.It was shamefully bad.

So my hopes aren't high for Eon. If someone like Ridley Scott could make it, I'd be ecstatic. Slim chance....

The Monkey Wrench Gang by Edward Abbey might be fun. It's got some great characters, but the eco-terrorism thing might make it unmarketable at this time.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
