What is terrorism? what measures you suggest to curb it?

Terrorism is pretty much what Emissionguy says.

I don't think it's a desperate move, but one that has become a legitimate form of warfare nowadays and when I say legitimate, I mean that from the point of view of the parties that utilise terror in order to further their cause.

Sadly, I don't think it's a case of overcrowding either, but a means of causing great pain and suffering to a lot of people without needing a full-scale army to achieve their goals as generally, their enemies are thousands of miles away.

Look at 9/11. There were very few people who were actual terrorists, yet thousands if not millions were affected by it. The London tube bombings were another case in point.

I do agree that I don't think it can be stopped though.

There will always be someone, somewhere who thinks that intimidation and terrorism will get them what they want.

Terrorism does involves violent acts, but I define it as imposing your will by instilling fear. Even if the acts are never performed, the threat and the fear generated can sometimes sway opinion in your favor.

One of the best ways to curb terrorism is to try diplomatic approaches, but the nature of terrorism makes this difficult. One way to reduce the effects of the act is to remain vigilant in your ideals and not give in to the fear.

War is the terrorism of the top dog. Terrorism is the war of the underdog.

Terrorism is a violent destructive action against civilian population used to foster fear and intimidation.

Terrorism usually makes things worse, not better for the parties commiting the acts. Its an ugly desparation move when no other solutions can be reached.

There is no way to stop terrorism. As the planet becomes more crowded and resources dwindle, it will only get worse.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
