What is the best air purifier for removing cigarette smoke?

I'm looking for an air purifier that isn't too expensive that will handle getting rid of cigarette smoke. I would like it to be relatively quiet. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Try this... I LOVE this one! I have a ton of allergy issues, but the main reason I had to buy an air filter is due to my new apartment. I hate it here due to the fact that there are four apartments in the building, and all of them smoke.It's completely insane that I have to deal with result of these addicts.

I lived in my former apartment for eight years, and tried several purifiers just for cleaner air, and nothing works. I even tried the Sharper Image ones spending $500, and they are useless. I used them for a year, and then a consumer reports article came up and proved them to be worthless.

I took the ad to the store and got my money back. (If anyone got sucked into this, bring them back.It does not matter how long you had them, and you don't need the box or receipt) Anyway, I really spent well over an hour examining these things in the store, reading the enclosures etc. And came home with two... Hamilton Beach TrueAir 04381 Allergen Reducer Air Cleaner . I got them last November, and they have been running 24/7 since.

Three speed settings. They are always on "low" and it's very quiet. It creates a nice flow that blows upward.

One in the living room, and one in the bedroom. When I leave, I somethings blast it on high and seriously come home feeling the freshness. And the smoke issue is completely over.My issue with smoke was from the front door which enters my living room.

Ionic Breeze Well, it's quiet, very effective, but not really inexpensive. I've had so many other brands, ones with filters that had to be replaced. Others that just had to be washed out...none of them has worked as well as the Ionic Breeze.
