I would have to suggest Pantene for over the counter shampoo and conditioner for nappy hair. It is fairly cheap and works wonders. I usually leave the conditioner on about 5 minutes prior to rinsing.

Rusk is a little bit more expensive and is considered a salon brand. They make a great shampoo and conditioner. The Calm collection is great for nappy hair.

You may want to consider using a deep conditioner once a week. You can buy small packs of deep conditioner and hot oil treatments for just dollars at retail stores or beauty supply stores. They will make a difference on your hair.

You will start to notice healthier softer hair, after a while. I am not certain if you are referring to ethnic hair. If so, Sally Beauty Supply has an entire isle dedicated to African American hair.

I have tried many and still prefer Pantene and Rusk, but everyone is different and everyone's hair is different. What works best for me, may not be right for anyone else. Experiment and see what works best for you.

Shampoo and conditioner is not expensive, so keep trying new products until you find what you love the best.
