What is the best cellular service in Jacksonville, Florida? I am thinking of switching from T-mobile to either Sprint or Metro PC?

I am not from Jacksonville but I am from Melbourne, FL which is about 3 hours south of you. As far as coverage for where you use your phone I cant answer but so far Metro PCS has provided good coverage everywhere I need to be. But what really makes it a good service for me is the low cost of there plans.

They start at $40.00 and this price includes taxes and fees. It also includes unlimited Nationwide calling and text messaging. Other plans have higher fees but the highest one is less than just unlimited calling for other services in the area.

Yellow Fin Dr. | Gate Pkwy. Terrible reception in my home and surrounding areas, often drop calls, straight to vm or "can you hear me now". Now I know why AT&T are called the "can you hear my now network".

Can't work from home anymore because of this, may have to switch networks very soon. Was this review helpful to you? 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

This really sucks! I pay over $200 amonth for 3 lines and neither one of us can use our service when we're on. I worl from home and my son has chronic asthma so I need my ph on at all times!

Had poor coverage in house off of Hodges. I got booster and it works great. I switched from ATT and have less drops on JTB and 95 towards downtown with Tmobile.

My wife had more drops on drive to beach with unlocked AT&T phone. Getting T-Mobile phone fixed her problem. I have unlocked AT&T phone and cant wait for the new 1900 LTE coverage to be online in Jaxville.

I got a taste of it in Baltimore and it was screaming fast data download. Faster than my home wifi. Stuck with edge now.

Anyone know about that refarming / new atower antenna deployment schedule for jaxville? Was this review helpful to you? 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

Have had AT&T for 8 years. The last year and a half the reception in my home has deteriorated. In the home, 1 bar or no service.

Calls are guaranteed to drop even if you go outside. I receive texts 1 hour after they were sent. It takes me 5 tries to send a text message.

At times my daughter's phone won't ring and incoming calls go directly to voice mail, but the voice mails don't show up until hours later. Dr.2 miles west to the tower at Racetrack Rd. And State Rd.13 and the reception is excellent.

As soon as I said something about my poor reception, the salesperson was able to tell me what area I lived in. Was this review helpful to you? 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

My cell phone reception seems to be good enough. I am amazed there are only 3 towers in the more densely populated areas. Was this review helpful to you?

I get no reception bars at all here at the house but, I go into Jacksonville and get 5 bar reception. Must be the phone... . Was this review helpful to you?

I have Verizon for the extensive network which seems to disappear at my home. Calls go directly to voice mail. Dropped calls at home and one bar or less at home.

Outide things are different. So I thought it was just me until I went to my sister's house in Chicago. I had to go DOWN THE DRIVEWAY to make a call.

I hate my carrier. Abyssmal service at a premium price. Relieved to see its not just me.

T Mobile is crappy. Most of the time, I get 1 bar to "No Service" when trying to use it in the house. I have even seen bars displayed on the phone, and I call from my home phone to "test" it, and it goes straight to voice mail.

It is very selective about where it chooses to work. Outdoors, I have no problems, and in some building it works great, but overall, I think it is a piece of garbage. The good thing is that I have a pay-as- you go plan with Wal-Mart, so I can dump this service ASAP.

I had a contract with Sprint and had NO PROBLEMS with the service. Every now and again I would hit a "dead zone" and lose the call, but my reception in the house was always excellence. If I have to have a problem using the service, I j would rather have an occasional drop off outside, than a constant one in my home.

As of this writing, I am currently looking for a Boost mobile phone, and then I am switching my plan before I receive my first bill from Wal-Mart. I hope my experience will be helpful to anyone who is considering using T - Mobile. Was this review helpful to you?

0 to 1 bars. It's better in other areas, but I wouldn't recommend the service in the NAS JAX / Ortega Farms area. We switched to Verizon now we have 2 to 3 bars, much better, but more expensive.

I am a very frustrated AT&T user. I have maintained my service for more than 10 years now and lived in my home for more than 9. I have heard numerous times that we would be getting a cell phone tower in our location for this same amount of time.

I am almost over it and ready to leave AT&T (along with my husband and son) when our contract expires soon if the service does not change. Was this review helpful to you? 8 out of 9 people found this review helpful.

Julington Creek | Old St. Augustine Rd. Sketchy in the house and, when it isn't raining, I frequently take calls from the back yard. Drops on 9a going north from 95 (toward beaches) and spotty through the city.

I travel for work and find the same type of "hit and miss" in and around Atlanta. Though, with VZW, it isn't just about signal strength, but about poor customer service, especially as it relates to billing problems. In the past four days, I spent > four hours to get an adjustment on a billing error.

Normally, about $200 but somehow became $1300+... Omigosh, what at wonderful wedding present. Filed formal "notice of dispute" and kindly asked to have the issue escalated. Was this review helpful to you?

After much discussion with T-Mobile, including their Tech rep, the best I can do is to re-up for another 2 years in order to get a signal booster that may or may not work. T-Mobile is the last-place provider in the four major providers, and this is exactly why! They don't mind taking my $220 per month for 3 lines that are virtually unusable inside my home.

I can't wait until my contract is up---T-Mobile is the pits for cell service! Was this review helpful to you? 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

T-Mobile has consistent had poor coverage in our area. The phones are slow. It cuts out especially when I go to school at FSCJ North Campus and on the interstate.

It also cut out in Virginia a lot. I like their pricing, and that is the only reason we have stayed with them. Their call centers are offshore, and that is another big negative.

I wish we they sold iPhones. Everyone says they are coming, but the target keeps moving just to keep the consumers in the chase. Was this review helpful to you?

I drop calls all the time. Signal shows 3-4 bars but the call still drops. Text messages take forever to go through.

I use to have Verizon and never had these problems. What's the purpose of having unlimited internet if I can never use it. Was this review helpful to you?

Works outside, but poor reception inside the home. Was this review helpful to you? 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

At the house, the reception varies randomly and widely. Pretty much anywhere in town, for that matter. Sometimes takes me between 2-6 hours to receive a text message or voicemail alert.

Call breakups and drops can happen at any moment for no apparent reason. It totally mystifies me that Nextel / Sprint have gotten away with having such useless service for so long. I made the mistake of leaving AT&T for the two-way to use at work.

I left that job, and about to break the contract, to go back to AT&T, which I never had an issue with here in Jacksonville, FL STAY AWAY! Was this review helpful to you? 67 out of 70 people found this review helpful.

North Kernan | Atlantic Blvd. Live in the Waterlesf subdivision, Atlantic and Kernan. No bar inside the house, but usually enough to send a text.

Walking outside is a little better. Has been this way since I first tried to switch to Verizon from AT&T in 2009. My household uses AT&t and T-Mobile service where we have no dead spots inside the house.

Hopefully, Verizon puts up another tower soon. Was this review helpful to you? 35 out of 38 people found this review helpful.

I flew from VA down to FL for a business trip. I called home several times and family member on other end told me that the caller id said IL number... WTF? Also, there was a 15-20 second delay between my sentences for the person on the other end of the line to hear me.
