Almost all of the dummies books from 1998 to 2002 had a free copy of netscape on the CD in the back. It seemed to be at its best at version 4.5. If you have never done any kind of web design, make a folder on your harddrive, install netscape 4.5, but don't allow it to change any of the web settings on your computer away from your current browser. Open up the the Composer, and make up some stuff.
Insert some images, set the background color, and set some goofy fonts in different areas of the "web page". Make another html file elsewhere in that same folder, then create a link to it. Embed some links in some images etc. Now go into the page source an look at what the actual html looks like.
Save a copy, and mess with the code. Just mess with composer until you feel comfortable. I don't see anything quite like the old netscape composer on firefox, sure there is the the developer, but that's quite different.
You might not really learn how to design proper modern web pages with imbedded video, and all of the newer stuff, but that ought to get your feet wet for a $4 investment at the used bookstore.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
