I can't give you the name of a specific card, but I can give you advice on how to get one in general. I had a similar problem to yours--I had no previous credit rating, and wanted a credit card in order to BUILD a good credit rating, but my annual income was too low so no one would give me one. What I did was bypass the usual application process and write a letter directly to the President of the credit card company associated with my bank.

I explained my situation--that in order to establish a good credit rating I needed a credit card; that I had no intention of spending outrageously, but rather that I wanted to be able to occasionally charge things and pay them off immediately so as to establish my credit rating. I also gave reasons why I could be relied on to pay things on time even if my income was low (in your case, you could mention the fact that you have always paid your truck payments on time as an example). Finally, I said that I had no problem with a low credit limit to start with, so that they wouldn't be taking a huge chance on me.

This may sound like a pain, but as you'll see, it worked out for the best. In the end, because I was so straight with them and didn't ask for a lot, they were willing to take a chance on me and sent me a card. At first my credit limit was very low (about $500), but as a few months passed and they saw how reliable I was, they kept raising the limit without my even having to ask (it is currently about $3000).

This may not seem ideal to you, or be exactly what you were hoping for, but it IS a way to get a credit card when the companies are reluctant to give you one, and I hope that it is as useful to you as it was to me. Sources: My opinion .

Hate to say it, but you may want to go for a secured card. Many people won't touch a secured credit card, but when you are trying to build up your credit, it could be the best route to go. Look up some secured credit card companies and try them.It WILL require you to "deposit" money first, but on the bright side, it's guaranteed approval.

Many times, no credit is MUCH worse than bad credit. Now, one EASY unsecured credit card to get is the Fingerhut credit card. I don't suggest Fingerhut highly, or anything, because their interest rates are atrocious, but they've been a company that has MADE or broke people's credit.

If you decide to apply with them, only make a small purchase at a time, and pay it off in a timely manner. You need to show that there is SOME activity, give it about 6 months, THEN apply for a card from a larger unsecured credit card company. The same goes with the secured cards.

Start using them, as I mentioned using the Fingerhut card, let a bit of time pass and apply for an unsecured one. After you get your first unsecured credit card, the offers will start pouring in, and you will get approved. Another route you may want to try is applying for a gas card.

Places like Shell can get your "foot in the door" for credit. I know how you feel about not being able to get the Sears card. I worked for K-mart, and had applied for a credit card from them.

They denied me, even though I was an employee (it's not like they didn't know where I worked! Lol). But, I realized too, that they denied me because I worked for them and they KNEW how little my salary was.

At least that is what I told myself to feel better. At that time, I had no credit established. Now, for the warning: After you get your first real unsecured credit card, DON'T go overboard.

You want to establish credit, but you don't want to have more than 2 cards. Actually, one is really all you need. If you find a card with a better interest rate and higher balance, transfer the balance of one to the new one, so as not to get carried away.

But, remember too, when you pay on your credit cards, pay MORE than the minimum payment, so that it gets paid off sooner and helps you avoid paying more in interest. The exception to this rule is the secured, gas and Fingerhut cards. If you JUST pay the minimum balance due, then it shows that you are a good "credit risk".

Unsecured credit companies want to see that they can make a bit of money off of you (via the interest rate), so at first, go for the minimum only. Hope this helps somewhat..

Credit card First premier bank has credit cards for ppl who have less then prefect credit they do charge alot to get the card at first I think it is like 150.00 most ppl who get this card get a 200.00-300.00 credit limit at first and they apply the 150(something like that) to the credit card so you will have only like 50.00 credit on the card at first.. https://firstpremierbankgold.com/Default.aspx?ap..." rel="nofollow">firstpremierbankgold.com/Default.aspx?ap... I have an answer bc I've had bad credit/no credit since I was 17 and they gave me my 1st credit card. Orchard Bank and Capitol 1 just gave me my 1st one's. The bad part about it.. they only start your limit out at 500$.

But unless you have super horrible credit.. they will give you a card w a low limit to start. I think you must have atleast a 550 to qualify.. which you should have bc that is fair to good. Good LUCK!
