Back in the day, 40 years ago, we took what we had on, one kit bag that fit in a duffle bag with civies. I am a guy, but that is what the Recruiter said to bring. Cell Phone?
Not needed Hand full of pens? Not needed, one pen, maybe two I ended up in The D.O.I, had to re-pack, and bug out, took all of 8 mins to get dressed, stow gear and be on the flight-line. I retired 20 years ago, I still keep a Ruck-a-sack and duffle packed and ready to roll out.
Ask the Recruiter is my suggestion, should have given you a packing slip, those are suggestions not needed items. Have fun, be safe, and Thank You!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
