If you are interested in a sports car, a REAL sports car, your concern would not be gas mileage. When you shove the pedal to the metal, you want a gallon (or a couple liters) of gas to be blown out the tailpipe.
The Mazda Miata is my favorite in terms of handling, looks, and gas mileage. But a sports car purist wouldn't consider the Miata a sports car. The term sports car has to be defined.
Generally any two-seater is a sports car these days.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
