What is the most unusual or (caught off guard) question you have ever been asked in a job interview?

“If you were a tree what kind of tree would you be?” He was applying for a job at a financial institution. He said it seemed like a ridiculous question to him.

" No, I was not interviewing for some kind of sex-related job...It was as a 9-1-1 dispatcher...I was totally caught off guard...I think that is what they were trying to do, since being a dispatcher, you hear EVERYTHING! Luckily, I was able to catch myself, look the interviewer striaght in the eyes and say "Well, you could probably consider some of the guys I've dated animals." It worked, I got the job!

They also asked me the common "What kind of animal would you be? " So I said I would be a frog...I explained that if I were a frog, I could jump from lilly pad to lilly pad, sticking my tongue out to catch bugs. I actually stuck my tongue out at the guy and pretended to catch a bug...Looking back at it now, it was probably a stupid thing to do (mimicking a frog)... I have read in inverview articles that you really shouldn't say a dophin because it make you appear too timid and you shouldn't say a lion because it appears that you are a jerk... I have no idea what kind of tree is the "right answer"?

Easy I am a computer technician at a major company. To get my current job this is just one of the questions I was asked. "If you was a cartoon character who would it be, and why?"

Without missing a beat I looked my future supervisor right in the eye and said, Marvin the Martian on bugs bunny. You know the little green Martian? I love him.

But I not only like I him, I do an impersanation of him. So I answered the question in Marvin's voice. The reason I told him I picked Marvin was because he got to play with cool toys like ray guns and he always got to try and blow up things like the earth!

I don't know if my future supervisor was impressed with my answer or my Marvin voice, but I got the job. After I got the job I asked why he asked such a question. This was his answer. To work in as a computer tech you need to be able to think quick, think fast and think out of the box.

There is no correct answer to the question but the incorrect answer is to say nothing or to sit and think about it before you answer. The faster you answer and the more creative you are, the better, it shows your able to think on your feet. :-) Doc † .

I was asked during the interview a very odd question! I was asked "so, who's your favorite Nascar driver? " This one set me back a bit until the office manager said that he had told the owner that I was a fan.

I told him who my driver was and then he told me that he was a Jeff Gordon fan! He asked me what I thought of him and I had to lie! I am not a Gordon fan but I told him that I thought that he was a good driver.

I didn't want to jeopardize the new position lol. This was way off the mark as I am working in a mortgage broker office! " This was at the height of the teacher/student sex scandal with Debra laFave and other cute twentysomethings. I was so offended and knew immediately I didn't want to work there. I felt like they were already suspicious of me.

Worst-case scenario questions are common ("What would you do if a student walk out of your room? " ) but that was completly innapproprite. The guy asking was a school board member who looked in his 60s.

I was 22.

" "After a job interview I was asked back to work a shift which they call a "working interview" & not paid for it. " "What are the worst or strangest job interview questions you've ever been asked? " "During a job interview how do you answer the question, "Why did you leave that job?

" when the reason is.

After a job interview I was asked back to work a shift which they call a "working interview" & not paid for it.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
