Fried rice in Indonesian is called Nasi goreng. There are a variety of nasi goreng types that is made to suit everybody's taste. Below are two types of Indonesian fried rice with the ingredients and how to make it.
NASI GORENG TERASI Ingredients: 1 Small bowl of cold already cooked rice 1 Little block of Shrimp paste 8 Chilly (use the small ones) 4 Shallot 3 Garlic Salt Oil (don't use olive oil, use oil for frying) How to make it: Use a wok to fry the rice. First pour eight spoons (or less, just condition it to the amount of rice you want to fry) of frying oil into the wok, and heat it on the stove. Peel the skin off the shallots and garlic then fry them whole in the wok until for 3 minutes.
Turn off the stove Ground the fried shallot, garlic, shrimp paste, and the chilies in a pestle until it turns into a paste (it does not have to be a smooth paste) Turn on the stove again, and using the same frying oil, fry the paste and soon after that, pour the rice into the wok. Stir the rice so that the paste blends well with the rice. Give a pinch of salt, and stir again.
Note: The amount of ingredients is actually up to you. If you don't want it to be too spicy, you could use less chilly. NASI GORENG SEAFOOD Ingredients: 1 Small bowl of cold already cooked rice 3 Shallot 2 Garlic Skinless shrimp (already cooked) Squid (already cut into small square pieces and cooked) 1 Chicken egg Salt Tomato ketchup How to make it: Peel the skin off the shallot and garlic, then dice them up finely.
Pour eight spoons (or less, just condition it to the amount of rice you want to fry) of frying oil into the wok, and heat it on the stove. Fry the diced shallot, garlic, shrimp, and squid. A few minutes after that, pour in the tomato ketchup (as much as you like).
Pour in the rice and stir it to blend the rice well. Crack the egg on top of the rice, give a pinch of salt and stir it again until the egg is cooked. Note: The shrimp and squid should already be cooked.
You can steam them if you would like. Also, it does not necessarily have to be tomato ketchup. You can also use sweet soy sauce.
This nasi goreng seafood is common to find in Indonesian restaurants. If you would like, change the shrimp and squid to chicken, or you could use squid, shrimp, and chicken at the same time! Make sure you use cold cooked rice when making nasi goreng.
When you use just cooked rice, or rice that is still warm, it can get very sticky and then ruin the taste and form of the rice. Use cooking oil, not olive oil. And try not to use too much, as the rice could get very oily.
Nasi goreng is a very easy dish to make, and a very good one to experiment with! You can use any kind of ingredients as you like, as long as you still 'fry the rice' ;).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
