Queen Mary I of England (1516-1558) did have over 300 people burned at the stake for heresy. Her successor, Elizabeth I, again removed England from Roman Catholicism. The superstition around "Bloody Mary" and a mirror is interesting fiction.(Who will try this?) Like most superstitions, it addresses the fears people have that things exist beyond their control that can do them harm.
It is easy to say that it isn't real, but the risk is daunting. For those unfamiliar, the story is that if one is in a darkened room lit only by a candle, chanting "Bloody Mary" into a mirror (three, thirteen, or more times) will summon an evil ghost that will scratch out one's eyes. This is a Halloween ghost story.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
