What is the value of BancaD'Italia 1000 lire mille made in 1943 without 2 children on the back of the bill worth?

If the Italian Lire 1,000 note (it is violet and multicolor with M. Montessori on the front and 2 children on the back of the bill) is dated around 1990 or later can be turned in before February 29, 2012 for US Dollars. Unfortunately it is worth only about 50 cents.
