I wouldn't say there's an obsession amongst the mainstream youth but there are some young people who are obsessed with anime. This isn't a new thing, Japanese animation has been part of pop culture for a long time, it was first popularized here in the USA in the 80s with shows like Transformers, Voltron, etc. Many shows farmed out their animation to various countries in Asia, a tradition which continues to this day.
I never really got into anime the way others did, though I still like the animation style. There's only really a small subset of people who are really into the genre and then everyone else simply knows anime vicariously through widely known shows like Dragon Ball Z, Avatar the Last Airbender or Pokemon.
Titen Avatar is not an Anime, it is a cartoon thus not belonging to Anime.
Like others are obsessed with cars and others with computers, blogging, facebooking and et cetera.
I am to be called an Otaku (Geek for Americans) or in other words some one who realy loves his hobby.
I'd rather watch Anime then all those childish, simple drawn cartoons that end up nowhere.
Anime comes with a story that, just like in movies, have truth or fiction in them.
What attracts me is the progress of a serie and most of the time the music and the story.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
