Oh my goodness, the lonesome wail of a saxophone. Like Bob Seger's "Turn the page", or the very best, Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street.
Well a few years ago I would have defiantly picked a piano. I love the piano. Nearly everyone in my family played when I was young.
I know in my best friend's family, they all play guitars. I think it's neat how that happens. About 1 to 2 years ago, can't remember for sure, I was looking a videos on youtube.
I found this edition of Canon in D that was just awesome. It was played on a harp. Since I love listening to songs played on the harp.
Minus the low quality sound of the video, you can't tell me that you don't just love that. If I was rich, I'd hire this girl to play at anyone I knows' wedding in a heartbeat. It's amazing and I started listening to harp music after this.
*I have a confession, I also like the banjo.
I just adore the flute! As a youth I was very into Jethro Tull, but during the 1980's a band called Duran Duran released a record called The Chauffeur. This has a flute track toward the end that encouraged me to learn to play the flute. My hubby and I went to a local music store and tried to buy one, but it was going to cost over $700, so they did us a deal; I was able to rent it for three months, and buy at the end, minus the rental we had paid.
I learned to play this repertoire, plus other stuff, but we were unable to afford the purchase in the end, so the flute went back. To this day I still want a flute! The flute really starts at 3:50 on this vid.
For me, it's a violin or a fiddle. I'm a real fan of cajun music because it is so upbeat and uniquely American, and makes you want to dance. Add a fiddle, and I'm in heaven!
And it looks like it would be very fun to play. (The first video is Waylon Thibedeaux, the second is Jean Luc Ponty and L. Subramaniam.
A violin always is a special touch to a song as well, I think.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
