Between LCD TV and LED TV the answer is that the LED TV is better, as it is an LCD TV which is back-lit by LEDs instead of by a less advanced light source, resulting in lower power requirement for the LED TV. As for plasma TV or LED TV, check out my answer to the question at: mahalo.com/answers/consumer-electronics/... . The bottom line is that it depends on where you will watch the TV, and what type of programming you're likely to watch most.
The conclusion of the above answer was: - quote - So, which is best? That depends. If you prefer really great colors, deep blacks which contrast with the brighter colors, your TV sits at wide angle to at least some chairs people will sit in while watching, you watch shows or movies with fast action like team sports, or action movies, and you usually watch in a fairly dim room, a plasma TV would work well for you.
If you're concerned about minimizing your electric bill, if you want a small flat panel (smaller than e.g. 36") where plasma is not available, you watch fairly static shows like game shows or golf, or use your TV a lot with fairly static video games, you watch TV in brightly-lit rooms (e.g. In the kitchen in the morning with sunlight streaming through a window), and you can keep the TV pointed pretty close to straight at you, then in this case, an LCD TV, and especially an LED TV, are better. - end quote - Check out the original answer for more details.
