HP LC3200N is a winner in my eyes The HP LCD 32" HDTVs are great value for money and offer an impressive picture (but, of course, that's relative to whatever other TVs you've seen ... for me, I have a Dell 37" HD LCD and 2 x Toshibas. ) In addition, most comments neglect to reference the speakers - since I use the HP in my bedroom, which is obviously lacking a surround sound system, the speakers are important -- the HP's are nothing short of phenomenal. Both Toshiba TVs are utterly horrific for sound and, in both cases, the speakers don't even detach (a mistake on my part for ordering over the net without first seeing in person.) To be honest, the Dell 37" is my favorite of all the TVs because it does everything well.

The only reason I'm not recommending it here is because I can't seem to locate a retailer any more. That said, the HP comes a very close second..

Panasonic/Samsung I'm looking for a 42" right now and my boyfriend has been stalking out TV's for several months and this Panasonic is top rated right now, and Samsung is second in consumer reports. I was looking at some TV's at Sam's club today and the Samsung "looked" like it had a better picture to me I told my boyfriend. He told me that the Samsung was trying to put a 780P image on a 780P equipped TV....but the Panasonic's picture wasn't as great because the same 780P image was being forced into this 1080P surface.

I might be off on those numbers, but they should be close enough to give you an idea when you go into the store. Be sure to pay attention to the signal being sent to the TV as it matters a great deal. Some signals are just better definition, and what you are watching on the TV matters just as much as the resolution.

Like HD tv... some people don't get Direct TV's HD set or Comcast's HD channels.. it's like.. why on earth did you buy an HD tv then? On that note plasma and LCD have about the same longevity now so that's tomato tamato at the moment. Some people think size matters, in this case the high amount of definition does..

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
