What kind of Guinea pig will I get if I breed a Texen with a Peruvian?

(Oh for G-ds sake ….."They won’t produce any because with your expertise, the female will die"…… Please get help for your problem). Both parents are longhaired so you will only get longhaired babies. Texel is a rexed (crimped coat) sheltie.

Peruvian is a straight coated pig with two rump rosettes (if it is show quality) which throw the coat forward to create the 'frontal' or fringe. Straight coated is genetically dominant over crimped coat. A coat with rosettes is incompletely dominant.

The offspring may have two, or one, or none at all. The mating you suggest will give smooth coated longhaired which, in all probability will have a rosette or two. You would be better to decide between the two breeds and, for example, borrow a Peruvian boar to mate to your sow.

You may be lucky and just get the straight coat with no rosettes (rather than, say, just one which would only mess up the coat). The babies would therefore be classed as Shelties. 6 months is the ideal time to put your sow with ... more.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
