What kind of religion is Islam to Judaism and Christianity?

The relationship of Islam to Christianity and Judaism is as a descendant religion. It is not a 'successor' religion in that Christianity and Judaism continue to exist.

The question is interpreted differently depending on what perspective you use to answer the question. Islamic View The three religions are basically calling for submission (Islam in Arabic) to same God (Allah in Arabic).

This monotheism shows that they are part of the same religious tradition and Islam is simply the final revelation to all those embraced by the Jews and Christians before Jewish or Christian View Judaism and Christianity don't see Islam as a successor. They see Islam as a religion that contains certain basic mistakes, despite its monotheism.
