You obviously don't know the magnitude of what you're asking. There are specific raods for every type of fishing style. To give you the most common styles of fishing,you have finesse,bait,fly fishing,doodle socking,deep sea,big game,spinning,cranking and trolling.

Those are the basics,but there are many other categories. Fly fishing. Very long light action rods with the reel holder set all the way in the butt of the rod.

A special line is used and a lighter leader used where the fly or streamer is tied. Most line class records are set with fly rods,as their flexibility helps absorb the energy of the fishes fight. Finesse fishing.

This would be a medium to medium heavy action rod. The purpose is to he=ave the most control over the artificial bait presented to the fish. A multi filament line is prefed over mon filament,as the multi filaments like Spider Wire (made with kevlarsame as a bullet proof vest is) or Fireline.

These are multi filament lines with much more strength for the diameter than mono filament. Finesse is just what it sounds like,you present the bait in a fashion to entice the fish into feeding,as fish are oportunistic feeders. This technique wiors best in high atmospheric presure conditions and hot days,where the water temp has risen.

Fish are less likely to feed then. Now,low prssure fronts. Many tournament fishermen will use the much more aggressive cranking approach,as fish are feeding more actively then.

Generally a medium action rod outfitted with a bait casting or spinning reel. Can't tell you alot about flyfishing. They're generally snobs and think that us spinfishermen are neanderthals.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
