Well...I'm going to Tarentino this and answer everything out of order. Short of there being a Super Bowl held there, or my favorite team playing in the playoffs against the Lions/Red Wings/Tigers/Pistons, there's no way on earth I would travel to Detroit right now. I'm sure they're hurting for some kind of tourism, but quite frankly there's a reason for that. It's nothing personal of course, but lets be real here, Detroit isn't exactly a fabulous destination city.
As far as major sporting events in the very near future, well the Red Wings are currently in the playoffs are they not? There should be at least a half dozen or so games there over the next few weeks. If you're into Wrestling it looks like the WWE is coming to the Joe Louis Arena on May 23rd, which coincidentally is the same day that Mario Galaxy 2 comes out for the Wii.
Lastly you've got Monster Truck Jams coming in...January of 2011. It doesn't look like a lot of unorthodox sporting events are going on there soon, but hey, look at the bright side, as least Detroit still has the ever successful General Motors. Oh wait.
Well...at least there's Chrysler. Hmmm...
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
