I'm a republican, because I have never seen a third party win, so I have to choose between democrats and republicans. I want a small government that protects its citizens and their property and otherwise stays out of their lives. The U.S.Government has been steadily taking over aspects of our lives and performing poorly.
Public education, mail delivery, and transportation are all more expensive and of lower quality than private alternatives (remember that you are taxed for all those things as well as any additional usage fees). Few republicans are for limited government anymore (George W. Bush was certainly happy with big government), but even fewer democrats are.
More republicans believe in protecting the rights of unborn than democrats. Republicans and democrats are harder and harder to tell apart, probably because republicans think they will be better liked if they are the same as democrats. I think it's time for conservatives to start explaining to America what they believe and why they believe it, much like Ronald Regan did once.
We are not a cold party that doesn't care about the environment, the poor, and the sick. We are the party who is realistic enough to differentiate between intentions and results. Liberals claim to be fixing all our problems, even as they worsen.
Conservatives want clean air and water, better education, better health care, more jobs, and higher pay. We just understand that many laws proposed to answer these needs are merely power grabs that will not address the real issues.
I'm registered as a Green Party member. My reason is that I consider the environment by far the most important issue before the country and the world. Unfortunately the Green Party has rather strayed from that here in Louisiana and nationally had an awful candidate last election.
Still, I consider it the Environmental party long term and therefor am a member. Prosperity is of little consequence if our planet becomes uninhabitable.
I do not belong to any political party and here is why.....each political party maintains a particular set of beliefs and, once you have declared loyalty to one party, it is very difficult to change your mind. The reality of the situation is that neither political party has it completely right and the only time this country runs smoothly is when there is an equal balance of power between the political parties. Within each party, you have those that are extreme (extreme left or extreme right) and those who are more balanced but lean just a little to one side.
When you have an appropriate balance in office, the voices of the radicals on both sides tend to be muffled and only then do the voices of reason from each side come out and real progress happens. In life, balance is the key to harmony and serenity and our government is no different.
I am a registered republican but they changed from the days teddy roosevelt, Eisenhower or Even Nixon. When Reagan was president you could disagree and still get along, now its about nonstop investigations, birthcertificates, so-called moral values, and nonsense issues, they think that everyone should just fend for themselves and all you have to do is cut taxes and it will all work out.
As a 50ish person I had been a republican until this most recent election when I changed to the democratic party. The primary reason for this change is the enlightenment and education I have received as the result of two of our adult children spending much time recently in third world countries working and studying. There is too strong of an alliance between republicans and the mega corporate world.
Human rights are being violated all over the globe for the sake of American profits. I recommend that you read "Confessions of an Ecomomic He spent his entire career on the inside of the American system of world control and thank goodness he has now had a revelation of real humanity. The truths in this book will chill you to the bone.
We need to stop chasing our own selfish wants in politics and look at what we're doing to the world. The democratic party certainly has its shortcomings as well, however, I believe there is still a thread of humanity within this party that still places individual's well being, no matter what their economic level, above the endless pursuit of power and the dollar.
I am an independent, although I use to belong to the Democratic Party. When I was young, I supported Goldwater (like and Nixon, but then I change to McGovern, and then Jimmy Carter. Every four years, I think about voting for the Republican candidate, but the Republican Party always manages to talk me out of it.
Came close the first time young Bush ran.
I am a registered independent. Because when I was in high school I didn't want to choose a side and thought independent meant just that. Independent of any affiliation.
Of course now I know better I just haven't changed my affiliation to really match what it is I believe.
I remain independent because I don't think political parties should exist, but most of my beliefs are in line with the Libertarian party.
Republican, I usually lean towards the right but not as right winged as Libertarians. It is not all that surprising considering that I live in the reddest state in the country, Idaho. The Republicans have greater dominance here than any other state.
In Tamil Nadu there are Two Major parties contesting with alliances, where as the third party DMDK is contesting the Lok Sabha elections for the first time without any alliances with parties. DMDK is having its alliance only with God and the Public. DMDK has decided to contest the elections alone and they have already started their campaign.
DMDK has got the "Murasu" symbol as their election symbol. Supreme Court has given the judgement and informed to the Election Commission about the symbol.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
