I think you are ready to start your blog now. I don't think you need to tighten your niche but you may want to have several categories on your blog for the different operating systems and stuff you will be talking about. Blogging is more personal than writing an article, IMO, so the blog posts will probably be shorter than article posts.

After you have chosen your blog niche I think you would first choose the best theme or template that would fit your niche the second is to get the content , I mean the best content you could get about your niche , what people concerning about your chosen niche need this is what you put in your blog after that publishing your content to the internet to drive visitors to your blog and do not forget to add some earning mechanisms , of course the best to do is Adsense from Google.

I wouldn't tighten it any more It's okay to not be too focussed in selecting the general niche for your blog It means you have several subniches that you can use as categories on your blog The super focussed stuff comes in when you are writing posts for the blog. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
