After sclerotherapy treatment, the patient drinks half a liter of pure water to dilute the salt. Compression stockings, purchased ahead of time, are immediately applied to the legs and thighs. The stockings place pressure on the capillaries and increase the effectiveness of the sclerotherapy.
The stockings are worn for forty-eight hours following the procedure. The longer the stockings are worn, the better the result. They are removed for showering.
At the first shower, the foam strips are removed from the legs.
