Toyota has issued three separate recalls so far. The first was in 2009, but the others were this year. I remember the first time I heard about the first recall on the news.
Apparently the accelerator pedal could get stuck in a ridge on the floor mat. However, you'd have to have pressed the accelerator pedal right to the floor before that could happen. If you didn't have floor mats or had different floor mats, this wasn't a concern.
I believe it was for both Toyota and Lexus, but the media I was listening to seemed to emphasize the Lexus portion of the recall. However, when some accidents were found to not have occurred because of the floor mat issue, that's when the full blown scandal really got started. If you weren't really following the recall before, the second recall is probably what got your attention.
That's when the media blitz really started and people began to worry. There also isn't one car with a "worst" recall. A large number of models are affected. In terms of what the company is doing and what you should do, simply make sure your vehicle gets the proper repairs and you should be okay.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
