Argentina - Two cups won. Disappointing in the last four World Cups. This could be the year.
They have one of the best current players in the world in Lionel Messi and one of the best player in the history of football as coach in Diego Maradona. With Champions League hero Milito & others like Carlos Tevez, Maxi Rodriguez & Sergio Aguero in the lineup, the Argentines are in the cup with much more than a chance. England - One cup won.
Disappointing ever since 1966 except under Bobby Robson in 1990. They arguably have the best manager in the competition, Fabio Capello, as well as a Geoff Hurst in Wayne Rooney. Probably the best team they've had in twenty years.
Spain - Arguably have the strongest team of all. But they have a history of being termed 'under-achievers'. Their recent success at the EURO '08 against favourites Germany would have given a big moral boosting effect on the team.
Netherlands - Never won before. Twice finalists in '74 and '78. Always strong.
Have an amazing attacking line-up with Kuyt, Sneidjer, Van Persie & keeper Van Der Sar, but always seem to muck up big tournaments Germany - Three cups won. Always count them in. They have a lot of experienced and talented players, despite several injuries to well known players like Michael Ballack & Rene Adler.
Philipp Lahm will lead the side & defense with style, while Bastian Schweinsteiger will have to give in his best to make up for captain Ballack's absence. Since 1950, the Germans have never failed to reach the quarter-finals of the tournament. Brazil - Five cups won.
Top World Cup nation of all time. They are always favorites and are the only country to win a World Cup outside their home continent. The pressure of expectations is off their shoulders this time, & may give them the freedom to perform like always.
Portugal - Never won before. They have Cristiano Ronaldo. They may however get Knocked out in the Group stage itself, owing to their current form & so called group of death including Brazil & Ivory Coast.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
