Vanished. Jericho. The Nine.Heroes.
I've had the pleasure of seeing Vanished, which premieres soon on Fox TV (Channel 13 in Seattle). It's the story of a politician's wife who disappears, the people searching for her (including Gale Harold, doing something very different than what he did in Queer As Folk) and the people who knew her, or thought they did. Premieres Aug.21.
http://www.fox.com/vanished/ There's a similar show on NBC (Channel 5 in Seattle) called Kidnapped. I've not seen it, but I like that it stars the wonderful Dana Delany, from China Beach. --------------------------------------- Jericho is the story of a town that has seemingly survived some kind of holocaust.
They don't know what happened to them. And I guess, over the course of the season, we'll get to find out. It makes me think of The Day After, that 1980s show that scared the heck out of me.
This show will air on CBS (Channel 7 in Seattle). Premieres Sept.20. http://www.cbs.com/primetime/upfront_2006/jericho.shtml --------------------------------------- I don't know much about The Nine.
But I like Tim Daly and it stars him. It involves people caught in a bank robbery and what it does to their lives. But it seems more Lost-y mysterious than straight-up crime-y.In fact, it airs after Lost.
Premieres Oct. 4. http://abc.go.com/primetime/schedule/2006-07/thenine.html ---------------------------------------- Heroes is an NBC show about people who discover the superhero inside. I think.
I'm into the superhero thing, and therefore intrigued. http://www.nbc.com/NBC_First_Look/Heroes/ Premieres Sept.25.
Amazing Race 10, Eureka, and Heroes Amazing Race 10 (CBS), Eureka(SciFi), and maybe Heroes (NBC). They each certainly have their own appeal. Of the reality TV shows, I have always loved the Amazing Race series and am definitely looking forward to the next season.
This of course means watching the first episode which features the teams leaving from Seattle. Eureka and Heroes both have some appeal because of their unique concept. Eureka seems like a geeky sci-fi (appropriate network) show that can be fun, while Heroes I will wait to see how it turns out because the concept of the random strangers with the odd powers is interesting, but have to see what they do with it and how they are all connected.

After World War II ended, America realized that science and technology would play an increasing role in national security. Given the close call with the deployment of the atomic bomb, it could not risk being surpassed by other nations. With Albert Einstein's help and that of other trusted advisors, then-President Harry S.
Truman had a top-secret residential town built in a remote area of the Pacific Northwest. This town would never appear on any map and be unknown to the public, except those that were authorized to learn of it. It would harbor the greatest minds in the country, as well as protect the country's most valuable secrets. In this haven, the country's greatest minds could live and work in a safe and supportive environment, allowing them to work on the next scientific achievements with no worries or distractions.
The best architects and planners were hired to make the town a paradise, with the best of everything for all its residents. From this, the town of Eureka was created. Its residents are responsible for almost every leap in science known to humanity over the past fifty years.
However, with experimentation inevitably comes failure, and over fifty years worth of trial and error they have had a number of experiments go awry. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eureka_%28TV_series%29 http://www.scifi.com/eureka/ Heroes Network: NBC Series start date: Monday, Sept.25 9/8c They thought they were like everyone else... until they woke with incredible abilities. In Japan, a lowly office worker can teleport at will. Is there a way to watch television shows online.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
