2 years ago was also middle of a recession, where many did not have the money to buy what they needed 2 years ago there was a false sense of security because Obama did not ban guns 2 years ago ammo prices were still high, in some areas about 175% over 2007,2008 prices. 2 years ago probably many of whom are buying now were underage (under 18 for long guns, 21 for handguns) and you can never really have enough guns or ammo, unless you have a huge amount of disposable income... alot of my recent additions were in the last few months. Not part of the panic buy, it was when funds became available.
My ammunition supply is the same, as funds became available, I'm not a rich person with large disposable income ot buy it all back in 2010. These days at least i'm a little better off, I load my own so a little less affected. But I can't load everything, not all of it is practical or affordable.
There's a couple things I'm looking for now, just the regular ammo restocking these are not panic buy amounts. Since i'm not rich, price dictates what I buy. Prices are high now (even higher than last time) so I doubt i'll be buying much of anything.
I need 3 cases .22LR (most urgent) 2 cases 9x18 (urgent too- new caliber this is the minimum ammunition requirement) 3 cases 7.62x39 surplus, preferably Yugo M43 2 cases 5.45x39 2 cases 7.62x39 commercial, preferably Wolf Performance 124 gr and 4 tins 7.62x25mm if I'm panic buying 1, i'd be buying alot more 2, I won't be able to buy much (if anything) because the prices are way too high. Ammunition prices have gone up 3-4X but my income is still the same. If I made $100/hr then things will be different (not really, because of Obama's socialist tax system).
If your the person saying it then i'm sure most people can understand, but you have to realize that there are new people either getting into the sport, or people who are deciding to acquire the use of firearms for self-defense for the first time, and find a "crowded" situation when trying to buy new firearms or even just stocking up on ammunition. I finally noticed that ammunition is in short demand, but ironically for some reason people just hoarded up on the cheap stuff, so I just bought a whole bunch of high quality ammo, I'm satisfied. Everything else is just up to an individuals comprehension level, which can generally be rather vague, or maybe they just procrastinate, and it seems like they don't understand.
You can't really worry too much about what other people do, because even if you did and gave your best advice, most people don't listen too well anyway. I think they let their feelings get in the way.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
