What types of inexpensive gifts would be good for a 15 year old boy?

My husband has a large family we buy Christmas presents for, including 2 15 year old nephews. I am at a loss about what to get them for Christmas. Neither has access to a dvd player, so movies are out.

If either has a game system why not buy a game for them? EB Games, Game Stop, etc.Have cheap videogames. If there the "intellectual type" why not get them a book.
