What was your favorite moment or event from the 2010 Winter Olympics?

I loved watching Shaun White, Apolo Ohno, Lindsay Vohn, and all the other Americans. But the performance in Women's Figure Skating by Joannie Rochette was amazing under the circumstances. I can't imagine working all those years to get to the Olympics in my home country and then being faced with the tragic circumstances that she was faced with.

Knowing that her mother would have wanted her to continue, she continued AND won the bronze medal.

The entire Olympics were amazing, luckily I had the opportunity to head to Vancouver for a day and soak it all in, however the best moment far none was today when Sidney Crosby scored the game winning goal in overtime to help Canada win a record 14 Gold medals at a Winter Olympics....yes a Record! Sidney became an instant hero to all Canadian doubters, what a game! What a Goal!

My favorite one is Sidney Crosby's winning goal in Hockey. He is the great Canadian! Crosby is the new idol of Canada.

Well, of course that would be when our hockey team kicked butt and took home gold... too bad they all had to rush out after the game (to their houses in the U.S. Of course) but most memorable - - Slovenian cross-country skier Petra Majdic, who fell in a hole, broke several ribs and punctured a lung, and still got bronze!

Though I enjoy watching curling, that's about the only sport I like from the winter olympics, and I didn't find anything particularly exciting during those games. :) However, the opening ceremonies were absolutely beautiful. For some reason I welled up when they allowed the First Nations to open.

Second favorite event (so far), the clown in the closing ceremonies coming out to make fun of the fourth arm of the Olympic Torch not coming up, haha. :).

I enjoyed Olympic Ladies Ski Cross|Ladies Ski Cross It has lots of action, crashes and abandons There's a funny moment-the Spanish skier Rocio Delgado fallls second time at the final and she stands on her belly raising the legs like a penguin It can be seen at minute 45 of the video ctvolympics.ca/freestyle-skiing/results-... also seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/talkofthe....

I've always liked figure skating because I envy those girls who can glide effortlessly on ice when I can't even glide without falling flat. T. T So for me, figure skating is my fave event... I watched this year's figure skating for ladies not just because I like the sport but because I am a big fan of Kim Yu-Na of Korea.

^^ Heck I was probably more nervous than her when it's her turn on ice. XD I'm so happy that she won and that she even made a new record: a whopping total of 228.56. I was very nervous at first because the pressure on her to bag a medal is quite huge for a young woman.

Overall, 2009 Winter Olympics is great... although there are few fatalities even before the Olympics started, I guess it's still somehow a success. Of course it could be a lot better if no one had to die... :(.

I enjoyed the entire men's ice hockey program. Even though I've always liked hockey because of the pace of the game, like basketball going from one end to the other constantly, the physical aspect of the game of using every part of the body, legs, arms, hand-eye coordination, etc. , as well as the precision needed and the team interaction.(There's no I in HOCKEY). But more so these games because of Jeff Hoard and the Mahalo Sports Team.

I was able to do a few tasks about some of the hockey players, and after reading and writing about them and their lives, formed a connection with them. Especially David Krejci of the Boston Bruins. He played on the Czech Republic team.

The Boston Bruins are going to open their 2010-2011 season in Prague, Czech Republic. What a home coming that would have been for him if they had won a medal. The final nail-biter between the US and Canada was the epitome of team determination and pride.

I like the patriotism that every one watching enjoys, if only for a few days.

Crosby's overtime goal was by far the biggest moment of these Olympics for me. But that moment almost transcends the Olympics, since we're so nutty about hockey here in Canada. For a pure Canadian Olympic moment, I can't help but think of Jon Montgomery's gold medal win.

Watching him walk towards his interview with CTV through the streets of Whistler, while hundreds of fans are cheering him on, then he gets handed a full pitcher of beer, that was my moment. It was a moment that showed me how much this Olympic games meant to all the people here. Whistler and Vancouver have been absolutely nuts during the Olympics, and it's been amazing to live here.

Incidentally, if you didn't see it, during his interview Jennifer Hedger asks him to demonstrate his auctioneer skills, and he promptly went and pretended to auction off what was left of the pitcher.

Chinese figure skaters dominate the pairs and take home gold!

Women's Curling... They were all so CUTE! I didn't understand the game AT ALL, but I loved watching them. (I could watch Allison Pottinger all day long... MARRY ME!(Don't tell my wife)).

Evan Lysacek's short program. I just found myself wanting it for him so badly. He had worked to hard.

I can understand how he kind of broke down when it was over - from extreme relief - even before he saw his scores!

The opening ceremonies, Wayne Gretsky's left watching and waiting. I love awkward moments it reminds me we are all just human and bad things happen to everyone.

Shaun White didn't just do something better than someone else did by a few seconds or fractions of a second. I mean fractions of a second could just be a lucky gust of wind at your back. That guy did a move I don't think anyone else can do and most people can't even conceive of doing.

That, to me, is impressive, not to mention his coach, who uttered the "expletive heard round the world. " It's pretty rare that an English language mother of all potty mouth words gets broadcast around the world. Good job Shaun White's coach!

It hasn't arrived yet. The second the closing ceremony ends I; that will be my favorite part of the Winter Olympics.

My best moment was seeing and hearing them give an applause for the Georgian Luger that died during his training run. When his name was mentioned and how all kids should be like him for having determination to become everything you want to be in your life. It was the best when the crowd all stood up during the closing ceremonies clapping.

Nice moment!

Loved Lindsey Vonn and Joannie Rochette. As an Aussie Lydia Lassila coming back from tearing her ACL four years ago and Torah Bright coming from last to win the womens snowboard was my favourite.

An unexpected surprise from the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games was the gold medal win by the 4-man American men's Bobsleigh team. Piloted by Steven Holcomb and dubbed "Night Train," Team USA 1 edged Germany 1 for the United States first win in bobsled in 62 years! Holcomb was losing his sight some years ago and was going to have to retire due to some debilitating disease he had contracted, however he underwent an experimental medical procedure involving a cornea transplant and came back to be an Olympic champion!

What a great story. The 4 man crew's win at the Vancouver Olympics means they are world champions 2 years in a row. They also won in 2009.

Being an American, my favorite moment was the game-tying goal at the end of the third period in the Gold Medal game between Canada and the US. While we didn't end up winning, it made the game such a thriller and it was so exciting. There was so much yelling and screaming and horns going off when Parise got that goal and an overtime for a Gold medal is more exciting than an overtime in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals in my opinion.

The Crosby goal in Overtime was probably the favorite moment for Canadiens but I think the fact that the US tied it and brought it into overtime as an extreme underdog made the game absolutely memorable!

The 2010 Winter Olympics are finally over. For some those two weeks went by in a flash but for others they seemed like an eternity. The 21st Olympiad was one of numerous highs and numerous lows and a good portion of America watched those games every day ... giving it some of the highest ratings of any Winter Olympics ever.

Covering the games for both NewJerseyNewsroom.com and working with a top notch crew at NBCOlympics.com has been a career high point for this reporter. So after two sleepless weeks and countless hours spent in front of a television watching everything that could be watched, my Best and Worst Moments List is finally ready. Evan Lysacek won gold in Men's Figure Skating beating out the heavy favorite, Russian Yevgeni Plushenko.

Plushenko, a now three-time Olympic medalist, came out after the games denouncing both the judging and Lysacek's performance. He went back to Russia and proclaimed that he was in fact the champion and held the "Platinum" medal.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
