What was your place (city, town, village) like in 1885, 1955, 1985, and would be like in 2045?

The Titanic never sank. It was the Britannic - Titanic's twin sister ship. Titanic was under construction, and the Britannic had already began service.

While on a voyage between New Your and back, it was involved in two accidents - the second one involving a bent keel and broken propeller. Their insurance company refused to pay off, so the White Star Lines devised a plan to collect the insurance. Since the Titanic was still under construction, they switched parts and furnishings that identified the ship as the Titanic, so for all intents, the Britannic became the Titanic - complete with Titanic's propeller with its unique serial number.

The Californian was sent ahead with no passengers, supposedly on a cruise to America. But it had orders to stop at a certain location and wait. The Titanic was supposed to deliberately hit the iceberg and sink. The reason there weren't enough lifeboats on board was because the Californian was supposed to rescue the passengers.

But there was a miscalculation - the Titanic was about 50 miles off course, and when it hit the iceberg and shot up the emergency flares, they were too far away for the Californian to see them. By the time they arrived on the scene, the Titanic had sunk and in the panic, only a few of the lifeboats had passengers. Years later, when the Titanic was discovered, one of the identifying factors was the propeller - the serial number matched that of the Titanic (which was the one that was switched).

The insurance company paid off on the "Titanic's" demise, while a brand new "Britannic" stayed in service for many years. Having been "repaired" to "like new", it was able to be insured again.

Because it was NOT the bottom. If you are going to challenge history, and please do, at least do the basic research. The iceberg caused a gash along the side of the ship that went through more compartments than the ship was designed to take.

It is thought that the attempt to steer around the berg lead to the Titanic's demise. That if the ship had hit head on, it would not have flooded so many compartments.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
