What would anyone be scared of Facebook doing with your information? What are the additional risks under the new settings?

There's so much information floating around in internet land that I don't find Facebook much of a threat. I don't totally understand what's going on there, perhaps I should start paying attention, but if it involves market targeting, heck, that's been going on for a long time anyway, it's vital that companies direct their advertising to people who are interested in their product. Perhaps I'm just too trusting, but I don't feel it's a huge security risk.

Users who don't like it are free to close their accounts.

I'm generally not worried about the companies (Facebook, Google, Microsoft) themselves. It's the ability of less-than-nice characters crawling my data. I like the changes.

There's no additional risks, but a lot more convenience as I was able to set access permissions for my photo albums (stopping professional contacts seeing my drunken photos).

Well my Wife and I have stalkers that can't be stopped by legal means because they simply aren't worried by jail time. We like to keep in touch with friends in the convenient way that facebook offers. I will not be forced to divulge my private life I will simply leave.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
