99¢ - $1.29 per song *is* affordable. Just buy your music legally, from iTunes, WalMart, or Amazon. If you really can't handle a dollar per song, sign up with a free service like Pandora that doesn't let you choose specific songs to play at specific times, but lets you create your own radio station using your music preferences.
