Pivot Stickfigure Animator is the answer! Pivot is a free stickman animation program I've been using for some time, and it's great and couldn't be easier to use. You move a stickman and other objects around by moving their joints and then pressing the "Next Frame" button.

Then you do it again. That's all there is to it. Then press the play button and it plays all frames.

You can create objects using straight lines, curved lines and circles, or you can download them from an internet site. You can also use picture files as backgrounds.
