The art gallery that is nearest the Arizona State University of Phoenix is actually right on the University’s campus. The ASU art museum and gallery is called the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. The museum was founded in 1950 and specializes and focuses in on contemporary art and contributes greatly to the educational aspect of the school of Arts major at Arizona State University.

Admission to ASU’s art gallery is always free and they are open every day except Sundays. The museum is located on the tenth street section of ASU’s campus, right near Mill Avenue. Special events, field trips and other educational sessions are often occurring during normal business hours, but this rarely interferes with tourist visits, since the facility is quite large.
