As far as what's on that list, I've got to say the original :"Blues Brothers". Dan Akroyd and Jon Belushi were both actually excellent musicians, and the movie featured some of the greatest talents in the history of Rock and R&B, such as Steve Cropper, guitarist for the Blues Brothers band, a veteran of legendary group "Booker T and the MG's", and Aretha Franklin, one of the greatest gospel and soul singers the world has ever known, and Cab Calloway, who was in the 30's and 40's a very, very big name (his trademark "zoot suit" has become over the years quite a recognizable icon of American pop-culture). The movie itself was very entertaining, even if some of the jokes seemed a bit contrived, and I don't think I've ever seen anything that John Belushi has done that wasn't funny.
But I'd have to say that the best "SNL Movie" that's not on your list would be Caddyshack. Yes, Caddyshack was not an officially licensed SNL Movie, based off a franchise sketch that appeared on the show, but it did have as its main characters three of the greatest comedians to ever appear regularly on Saturday Night Live: Dan Akroyd, Chevy Chase, and Bill Murray, as well as non-SNL comedian Rodney Dangerfield, also a legend. The movie is a classic, and I don't think I've ever run across anyone that didn't laugh uproariously when watching it.So, if Caddyshack were to count, I'd nominate it as the funniest "SNL" Movie ever.
Night at the Roxbury. " Based solely on the fact that it's a universally accepted fact that when you hear "What is love?..." You need to start bopping your head.
The Blues Brothers all the way Wayne's World was pretty good. The other were barely tolerable, or worse.
By leaps and bounds, it MUST be the Blues Brothers. With all of the star power in that movie, the genius of John Belushi and the fact that the music is AWESOME, indeed the movie is a classic and a must see for everyone. I thinka strong second is Waynes World, but that may just be a generational thing.
It has got to be Wayne's World. One of the only one to have enough success to warrant a sequel. The Blues Brothers is perhaps a close second.
The best SNL movie ever made was The Blues Brothers. One proof I would offer for that is that people don't know it's an SNL movie in most cases. It stands proudly and completely on its own.
And of course, the early days of SNL offered the world more comedic talent in its little finger than the whole body of comedy has seen since. I would also say that Wayne's World is a respectable runner up. Mike Myers and Dana Carvey are versatile and elastic, and their characters are funny, but still have some depth to them.
There's a sweetness and playfulness to the movie that still shines through all these years later.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
