What's the best way to find a new tech job when you've been laid off?

I would train for certifications in the downtime, this also increases your chance of getting a job as employers look for certifications and experience, also, don't give up ;).

Networking and creating your own job are probably the best ways to find a new job. When you get laid off you do have alot of mean time and you can create value.

I would say start off networking, there are many websites for that (linkdin comes to mind). Continue your training, keep up with trends, if you resume isnt getting hits anywhere then update it. There are LOTS of tech jobs over seas.

Check out companies like EMW or ITT.

I think a lot of people would say networking, but not everyone has friends in the industry. You could try listing yourself on Layoff Talent. It's new, but looks like a good place to post your info and hopefully be found by an employer: layofftalent.com.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
