I'm going there from New Zealand with my partner. He is 25, I am 26. I'm very conservative and am not keen on taking risks!
I love ecotourism kind of things. What do you recommend? Asked by katienz 59 months ago Similar questions: coolest tourist attraction York City Local > United States > New York City - NY.

Not much "ecotourism" in a big city. For my money, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is the best thing to see in NYC. There's not much in the way of ecotourism in NYC that I'm aware of.It's a big city.
I mean BIG! Like nearly eight times as big as Auckland. There's Central Park, but that's just a great park (definitely worth seeing), not exactly "ecotourism.
" And sure, New York is on the waterfront, but it's a busy industrial port kind of waterfront (though the Staten Island ferry is worth riding for the view of the city skyline). No, when you go to New York, you go for what it has to offer, not for what New Zealand is known for. I'm sure you won't find anything close to the amazing ecotourism stuff you guys have down under (I've been there, and it was awesome).
If you're conservative and not keen on taking risks, then you probably don't want to go up the Empire State Building or the Statue of Liberty, two big tourist traps, I mean attractions. You might not give a hoot about Ground Zero, which is one of the things people like to see in NYC these days. But New York is known for its entertainment (Broadway shows in particular, also Times Square, Rockefeller Center), museums (Metropolitan Museum of Art is tops), immigrant history (Ellis Island, might not be interesting to you unless you have American immigrant ancestry), ethnic restaurants (e.g. , in Chinatown), and just the look and feel of the city (the Brooklyn Bridge, the skyline, etc. ) Check out the Virtual Tourist Travel Guide to New York for some recommendations.Be sure to scroll down past all the advertisement at the beginning of the page.
Lonely Planet also has a good New York page on their website. Enjoy your time in the Big Apple! If you have never been to New York, go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and MoMA The reason I suggest the museums if that these are two impressive institutions. I may be getting cynical as I get older but I feel like globalization has made large cities around the world very similar. In the quest for profits companies open "flagship" stores everywhere.
Unless you are taking advantage of a large shift in currency values I don't see why people bother to shop while on vacation. You can almost always get the same stuff at home or online. And the trends in clothing, food, media, etc.Move around the world at lightning speed.
It's not often you will get a dining experience that is radically different from home. However, you will get to see paintings and sculpture at the Met and MoMA that you have only seen in book and that you will recognize on sight. The Metropolitan Museum of Art 1000 Fifth Avenue at 82nd Street New York, New York 10028-0198 General Information: 212-535-7710 metmuseum.org/ Admission is a "suggested" $20 which means you can give pretty much whatever you want.
Since I live in New York and sometimes like to drop in for an hour or so I don't feel guilty paying $5. If I was going to spend the whole day there I would feel compelled to pay full price. Hours* Friday 9:30 a.m.

Museum of Natural story / Hayden Planetarium Don't miss the American Museum of Natural story and the Hayden Planetarium. They are fun and provide a wonderful learning experience at the same time. Sources: amnh.org/ .
Sadly, my favorite tourist attraction is gone I really liked driving into New York and seeing the World Trade Center from a distance. Actually going up was quite the kick. But that's no longer an option.
The next best things to see are The Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty. They are both very impressive. I'd also highly recommend seeing the American Museum of Natural story and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Oh, and I can't tell you how much I love the New York Public Library in Manhattan. I'm not sure if it's considered a tourist attraction, but it's really impressive. If you love books, you must see it.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
