My city.. Well, we have several claims to fame. Nothing really current--no celebs hail from my town or anyone really of note. Most of our notable things are from long ago--the late 1800’s and early 1900’s--mineral water was the first one.
Back in the late 1800’s we had a booming economy and luxury hotels and six passenger trainloads of people a day coming in to drink or bathe in our mineral water (they thought it had healing powers)--as opposed to a currently dying downtown and only about 5500 people....Mineral Water made us into quite the place to be back in the "good old days". But, that didn't last too long. Then there was ice cream!
We had a family that had a huge dairy farm, but didn’t like only getting 2 cents a quart for it. In 1896, they started making Ice Cream, and the company they created lasted until the 1960’s, and they made us the Ice Cream Capital of the World (or so they say). There used to be ice cream festivals and contests and all kinds of events tied to ice cream....but that was back before my time.
Of a more recent note, we had a little incident in the late 1980’s, I think it was. Being on a river, we have a lot of dams in our town, and one winter some cows got out on the ice and drowned in the river. Their bodies ended up getting caught in the hydroelectric wheel on the river, and went around and around in the dam....it was too dangerous to get them out, so it took several days to to figure out a safe way to do so.So every since them then it’s been kind of a legend for the town--the day the cows were in the dam, spinning around and around....gruesome, but funny!
So now we have a Dam Festival, with the logo being cows in the dam (but the graphic makes them look like HAPPY COWS, rather than dead ones, thank goodness! ) It's one of our own claims to fame now, bizarre as it seems!.
Stamford, CT Located in Fairfield County, Connecticut, Stamford, is known as "the city that works". It was incorporated in 1893 and is most famous for being home to the electric dry shaver industry. Stamford is located on the southwestern tip of Connecticut, and is well liked by residents for being less than an hour away from New York City and still one of the safest cities in the U.S.(FBI census, 2004).
My favorite thing about Stamford is the food. There are so many great restaurants here. I wish there were a lot of stores like there are places to eat!
We don't have the best clothing stores here. Sources: http://www.citytowninfo.com/places/connecticut/stamford .
Five private colleges, a graduate school, a school of theology, and the Mary B. Eyre Nursery school That's where we send the graduate students when they graduate. Claremont has spent some decades building its fame on the educational institutions here.As a graduate of the first one, I can say that fame is unearned.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
